Well no, not really, because if you’ve got a lick of sense that’s on May 2nd, but we are where we are.
Here’s a nice little union song anyway; Billy Bragg at a concert to celebrate Pete Seeger’s 90th birthday.
It’s obvious that being a conservative, in the modern sense, makes no fucking sense at all – over on the sunlit side of the street the men have kinder faces and the girls are all better looking, both observations being confirmed right here for all to see. Not a single example of solidified hair or spooky bachmannesque fingernails to be found.
Repent, oh our beloved lost brethren, and step into the sunlight once more!
Love the song.
And the quote from NatashaFatale up there. Reminds me of that invitation I got for the Van Jones Reclaiming the Dream conference at the Washington Hilton with the special liberal discount rate of $259 a night. Saving the world. Over hors d’oeuvres at the Washington Hilton. Jesus Fucking Christ.
No me gustaría estar atrapado en un ascensor con ella, pero Michelle Malkin es muy caliente.
Ah, Tomas de perro, puede correr, pero no se puede ocultar.
Well, you would think that, wouldn’t you, Tommydog?
Si, pero para un perro viejo, puedo correr muy rapidamente.
¿Puede correr rápido en círculos, tal vez, pero se puede coger a una chica hermosa que no se encuentra atrapada en un ascensor?

And the songs are way way better!
I was a little surprised though that as gunny has mentioned his “Wobbly” inclinations before that there is no mention of Joe Hill.
The song is written by Woody Guthrie song – perhaps the USA’s most well known folksong writer – performed by Bragg to celebrate Pete Seeger’s 90th birthday. At the birthday celebration in front of the Lincoln Memorial, Bruce Springsteen talked about Seeger and a song they were to perform – “This Land Is Your Land” and the fact that Seeger wanted to include the verses that are so often left out – so here is one of those verses:
Perhaps more truth in that today than all the patriotic “wheatfields waving” and “golden valley” verses

I just noticed the IWW at the top – so gunny got in a reference to the “Wobblies”
But I’m putting in a link to Joe Hill
Paul Robeson singing “Joe Hill”
Robeson had a strong link to the miners of South Wales including one movie.
